Hand Joinery course
Course breakdown-
During the course you will learn the skills needed to cut stunning hand joinery, once these skills are refined over time you will be able to transfer these into many of your future woodworking projects.
The group will be made up of up to four students, this way you will get as much instruction as possible and still be part of a group to share the experience. All necessary equipment, tools and Refreshments will be provided. The course will be made up of 6 (2HR,30MINUTE) sessions split up for 1 night a week.
Some of the skills you will learn along the way are listed below. Please don't worry if you don't understand any of the terminology you will be guided throughout the course and learn new skills each week.
Joints covered-
Corner halving, T halving, Dovetail T halving, Bridle joint, Dovetail
Tools used-
Marking gauges and equipment, Dovetail saw, Tenon saw, Mallet & chisels, Block plane, Sander & many more.
Additional techniques-
Sanding Techniques (hand and machine), Gluing up techniques, How to overcome mistakes, Stock preparation (planing square marking out, choosing the correct timber) And so much more.
Some joints will be constructed with hardwoods and some with softwoods depending on the availability at the time.
A good amount of flexibility is possible during the course ie more time can be spent on a specific joint if needed.

Coffee table course
Course breakdown-
During the course you will build your very own Farmhouse coffee table, you will build & construct everything yourself, making a truly lovely piece of furniture built to last.
The group will be made up of up to four students, this way you will get as much instruction as possible and still be part of a group to share the experience. All necessary equipment, tools and Refreshments will be provided. The course will be made up of 7 (2HR,30MINUTE) sessions split up for 1 night a week.

Types of Joinery-
Pocket joinery, Biscuit jointer, Half lap joint, Joining panels, Butt joints
Machines used-
Miter saw, biscuit jointer, orbital sander, router, drill & driver.
Hand tools-
Hand saw, block plane, Marking out tools, chisels, mallet, clamps & many more.
Finishing Techniques
(waxes, wood dye, varnish, hardwax oil, stains, shou sugi ban)
Additional techniques
Sanding Techniques (hand and machine), Gluing up techniques, How to overcome mistakes
And so much more.

Cabinet making course
Course breakdown-
During the course you will build your very own cabinet, you will design and construct everything yourself, making a truly original piece of furniture built to last.
The group will be made up of upto four students, this way you will get as much instruction as possible and still be part of a group to share the experience. All necessary equipment, tools and Refreshments will be provided. The course will be made up of 6 (2HR,30MINUTE) sessions split up for 1 night a week.

Sanding Techniques (hand and machine), Gluing up techniques, how to fit a drawer, how to hang a door and How to overcome mistakes and so much more.

Custom Lessons
Details-
We also provide custom lessons which are tailored to your needs. Lessons can range from group bookings with friends, family or private 121 tuition.
Whether you want to learn the ins and outs of a particular tool such as a router or would like to build your own project like this river table, then you have come to the right place. We will focus on the skills you desire to improve and lessons will move at a pace comfortable for the student. Lessons are extremely flexible on date, time and duration so don’t hesitate to get in touch!
